I AIN'T buying no 'Breast Milk Baby"!

SMDH! For those of you that doesn't know what "SMDH" is, it means "shaking my damn head".

Really! What will they think of next? The Birth Control Barbie or even better Condom Ken?
This is so creepy to me. Knowing that it's ok to see young girls walking around breast feeding their baby dolls. WOW!

"The Breast Milk Baby simulates the breast-feeding process by including a fashionable halter-top that a young girl can put on like a vest and when she brings the Breast Milk Baby doll’s mouth up to the pretty flower decoration on the vest the doll makes a soft, suckling sound. The two flowers on the halter are positioned where the nipples would be and when the mouth of the doll is brought close to the embedded sensors in the flower, the baby makes motions and suckling sounds."

What are your thoughts? Would you buy one of these dolls?

The Making of a Documentary Film

Here we go gals. The beginning of one of my dreams....Helping others!
In todays world self esteem is a big issue among young adults and teens. It is my goal to help spread awareness and to help give them the boost they all need. By doing this I am working on making a documentary film based around these issues. I have never done this before, so yes it will be a learning experience for me as well. I am anxious to see the finished product. It will take some time to prepare and a lot of research in the filming business. So please if anyone has any ideas or advise to help me out I would so appreciate it.

The SEGG is all in and the gals are also excited and will be a BIG part of this film. Our main goal is to hear from young people and we will be asking "on the spot" questions concerning pure pressure and how they deal with it, and how they see others deal with it...

From the research I have already done, when it come to having low self esteem, many turn to drugs, alcohol, unprotected sex, gangs and sadly suicide.
It is my mission to help spread the word that... YOU ARE SPECIAL!

I have created a facebook page and would love for you to visit and check it out. Hand n Hand Project is the name. please stop by and hit the "like" and "share" button. The more we can reach the better.

Let's Do This!

What is LOVE?

I'm sitting here with something that's been on my mind for a while now. Just can't seem to shake it off. So I thought I would share it. Maybe it will make me realize why people are the way they are. Or simply make me feel better just because...LOL

So, I have been with my husband for 14 years married for 13 of those years. What I can't get through my head is people who claim to love but when things get tough or the money runs out or just simply not being happy at the "moment" do what they do? WHY do they not try and work it out?

I have come to the conclusion that it's not love at all. It's selfishness, money hungry, let me go to the next thing type LUST. Do these people not have a heart? Then there are children involved, that usually get left behind for someone else to raise or left in a broken home with one parent. It breaks my heart that these type of non-loving people exsist. Out of site out of mind. Right?

Please don't get me wrong, all single parents are not in the same boat here and all parents that don't live with their children are the same. I'm talking about DEAD BEATS here. One thing that erks my butt is a dead beat parent that claims to love their children and turn around and lie to them in their face. I have a low tollerance for BS lies and especially to children. Broken promises are the worst in my book specially when I'm the one having to explain to a child that it will be ok...knowing in my heart that it's not.

Anyhoo I could go on but I'm getting off track here. I was talking about LOVE. Well let me brake it down for those who know nothing about it.

1. When you are in love with someone, you know it and NOTHING will come in between you.
2. When your heart skips a beat everytime your hear their voice, you know it's real love.
3. When you can argue but in the back of your mind your thinking,"I can't wait to "make up" you know it's love.
4. No matter how hard you think it is or gets, you know love will get you through it and niether one would ever think about "coppin out". That's love.
5. And when you know there is not another human being on earth that you'd rather be with in this world...THAT"S LOVE!

Celebrating Ourselves and Our Girlfriends!!!

Celebrating Ourselves and Our Girlfriends!!!

I'm only as strong as the cocktails I drink, the hairspray I use, and the girlfriends I have. Here's to you! Why do we only have parties for each other when one of us gets married, pregnant, has a birthday, or retires? What would most of us do without our sisters, confidants, and shopping, lunching and traveling girlfriends? Let's celebrate each other for each other's sake!

Someone will always be prettier.

Someone will always be smarter.

Someone's house will be bigger.

Someone will drive a better car.

Someone's children will do better in school.

And someone's husband will fix more things around the house.

So let it go, and love you and your circumstances.

Think about it.

The prettiest woman in the world can have hell in her heart.

And the most highly favored woman on your job may be unable to have children.

And the richest woman you know, she's got the car, the house, the clothes....might be lonely.

And the word says if "I have not love, I am nothing."

So, again, love yourself.

Love who you are. Look in the mirror in the morning and smile and say "I am too blessed to be stressed and too anointed to be disappointed!"

"Winners make things happen. Losers let things happen."

Be Blessed ladies and pass this on to encourage another woman.

"To the world you might be one person, but to one person you just might be the world".

First Day of Spring, What it Means to Me....

Woke up this morning, was as nice as it could be, birds chirping, wind blowing the grass is all green

I sat with my coffee beside me and looked into the sky and remembered thanking god for another day of being alive

Everyone is still sleeping, not a noise in the air, oh except the birds and that's all i can tell

The trumpit's are spouting with green all around, not to long before the orange hits the ground

Roses are budding, trees dressed in lovely green, honey suckles blooming, the smell is so sweet

If i had one wish for a life time, what would it be? To have this blissful weather here that we call SPRING.

National Stress Out Week

National Stress Øut Week, Nov. 8–14
National Stress Øut Week Spotlights Connection Between Anxiety Disorders and Substance Abuse—and What to Do About It
November 8–14, 2010

A recent scientific study finds alcohol as the most harmful of all drugs. But for many people, a glass of wine with dinner or a few drinks at a party is no cause for concern.
However, people with an anxiety disorder who use alcohol or other substances to alleviate their symptoms may actually make their anxiety worse. And it can be a vicious cycle: The symptoms of one disorder can make the symptoms of another worse.

During National Stress Øut Week, November 8–14, the Anxiety Disorders Association of America (ADAA) encourages you discover the difference between everyday stress and an anxiety disorder; take time to relax and unwind; and find help for anxiety, substance abuse, and other disorders.

Seven out of ten adults in the United States say they experience stress or anxiety daily, and most say it interferes at least moderately with their lives. About one-third report persistent stress or excessive anxiety daily or that they have had an anxiety or panic attack. It isn’t unusual for those with social anxiety disorder, PTSD, panic , or other anxiety disorders to drink excessively to cope with symptoms or try to escape them.

Murray Stein, MD, MPH, and John Walker, PhD, write in Triumph Over Shyness: Conquering Social Anxiety Disorder that social anxiety disorder “frequently travels in the company of other emotional difficulties” such as alcohol or drug abuse, depression, and other anxiety disorders.

Those with an anxiety disorder—some 40 million adults in the U.S.—are two to three times more likely to have an alcohol or other substance abuse disorder at some point in their lives than the general population.

Down & Dirty Event

First of all I would like to thank the one's for showing up and taking the time to help make this happen.

The clean up didn't take that long with everyone's help, well maybe it took a little longer...LOL
It was BAD! Beer cans, dirty diapers, empty beer cases you name it, it was there. That didn't stop us for doing what we went to do though. We picked up hundreds of pinecones and I don't know how many piles of pinestraw my husband had for me to load. Some of the girls even had a pinecone fight. It was an awesome day for sure. I am hoping in the near future that we can place trash cans at this site. So if you have a chance ride by and take a look at the now pretty little road side park in Hickox between mile makers 7&8 on Hwy 301....

HELP KEEP BRANTLEY CLEAN! It will help by taking your trash with you...

2010 Daylight Saving Time

On Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 2 a.m., Daylight Saving Time begins in the United States.
Every Spring we move our clocks one hour ahead and "lose" an hour during the night and each Fall we move our clocks back one hour and "gain" an extra hour. But Daylight Saving Time (and not Daylight Savings Time with an "s") wasn't just created to confuse our schedules.

The phrase "Spring forward, Fall back" helps people remember how Daylight Saving Time affects their clocks. At 2 a.m. on the second Sunday in March, we set our clocks forward one hour ahead of Standard Time ("Spring forward"). We "Fall back" at 2 a.m. on the first Sunday in November by setting our clock back one hour and thus returning to Standard Time.

The change to Daylight Saving Time allows us to use less energy in lighting our homes by taking advantage of the longer and later daylight hours. During the eight-month period of Daylight Saving Time, the names of time in each of the time zones in the U.S. (map) change as well. Eastern Standard Time (EST) becomes Eastern Daylight Time, Central Standard Time (CST) becomes Central Daylight Time (CDT), Mountain Standard Time (MST) becomes Mountain Daylight Time (MDT), Pacific Standard Time becomes Pacific Daylight Time (PDT), and so forth.

Daylight Saving Time was instituted in the United States during World War I in order to save energy for war production by taking advantage of the later hours of daylight between April and October. During World War II the federal government again required the states to observe the time change. Between the wars and after World War II, states and communities chose whether or not to observe Daylight Saving Time. In 1966, Congress passed the Uniform Time Act, which standardized the length of Daylight Saving Time.

Daylight Saving Time is four weeks longer since 2007 due to the passage of the Energy Policy Act in 2005. The Act extended Daylight Saving Time by four weeks from the second Sunday of March to the first Sunday of November, with the hope that it would save 10,000 barrels of oil each day through reduced use of power by businesses during daylight hours. Unfortunately, it is exceedingly difficult to determine energy savings from Daylight Saving Time and based on a variety of factors, it is possible that little or no energy is saved by Daylight Saving Time.

Arizona (except some Indian Reservations), Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and American Samoa have chosen not to observe Daylight Saving Time. This choice does make sense for the areas closer to the equator because the days are more consistent in length throughout the year.
